After the outbreak of the 1st world war, Britain needed men to join the army and defend the country. The war was spreading all over the world.For the first time in British history, conscription was introduced. A lot of peolpe did want to volunteer. Britain included men of different social classes, for instance farmers,miners,cropers,men with wife kids although people that had health problems or that  they work reasons were not included. These soldiers were between 18 and 41 years old, but the army wasn't enough to win the war. That's why  boys between 15 and 18 years old wanted to join the army. They finally joined it!
